Cicoil First US Company to Receive Rafael Quality Award
Cicoil Corporation is proud to announce becoming the first company in the United States to receive the prestigious 'Ship-To-Stock' quality certification from Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, which is based in Israel. Cicoil has been a supplier of complex cable assemblies to Rafael for many years, and Cicoil's superior quality and delivery performance resulted in Rafael awarding Cicoil the 'Ship-To-Stock' certification. The certification is recognition of Cicoil's quality performance, as it allows Cicoil to ship products directly to Rafael in Israel, without requiring source inspection in the United States. This is the first time a United States company has received this certification.
The cable assemblies Cicoil supplies to Rafael form the electrical backbone of Rafael's world-leading 'Litening' navigation and targeting pod. The Litening Pod, jointly manufactured by Rafael and Northrop Grumman, is used on fighter jets for the United States Air Force, and it also used by the Israeli, German, Dutch and Hungarian Air Forces. The Litening Pod is equipped with day and night sights and a multiple sensor array that enables high confidence target selection, identification, and precise strike and damage assessment. Litening enables fighter aircrews to carry out a wide range of missions, including: detection / recognition /identification and laser designation of air-to-ground and maritime targets. There are over 1,000 Litening Pods in use worldwide, and the Pods have proven themselves as the leading targeting technology available, in terms of both performance and reliability.
