Can you provide complete cable assemblies?
Answer:
Yes. Cicoil can provide our cables connected to virtually any connector. In fact, over 80% of our shipments consist of complete cable assemblies for customers. Our factory in Valencia, California is ISO 9001 certified, including the rigorous AS9100 Aerospace standard, and every cable assembly is 100% electrically tested before shipping.
Question:
Can you put different gauge wires in the same flat cable?
Answer:
Yes, you can mix and match wire gauges, wire types, and even wires and tubing, in the same flat cable.
Question:
How does your flat cable go into standard connectors with round openings designed for round cables?
Answer:
Our cables attach easily to standard connectors with round openings. Cicoil flat cables are easily split and can be made into a round shape to go into a connector.
Question:
Can you put two or more rows of conductors on top of each other in the same flat cable?
Answer:
No, with our technology we can only put a single row of conductors/tubing in a flat cable. Where multiple rows of conductors are needed, we provide customers with multiple flat cables.
Question:
Can you make your silicone cables more smooth, so they slide more easily against each other, and against other surfaces?
Answer:
Yes. We have coatings that we chemically bond to our cables to reduce the friction of the silicone cables. Ask your Cicoil application engineer for more details on available low friction coatings.
Question:
Do you have ribbon cables that can be used with standard Insulation Displacement Connectors (IDC)?
Answer:
Yes, we have a full line of ribbon cables that are designed to work with standard IDC connectors, just like standard PVC-type ribbon cables. Our cables feature our ultra flexible wire and clear silicone insulation, so they are good for flexing applications, and for harsh environments.

Can you make flat cables with separate 'pods' for easy stripping along the length of the cable?
Answer:
Yes. Our unique cable extrusion process allows us to make cables with virtually any profile, including separate pods of conductors. See details »

Are your cables made in America?
Answer:
Yes, 100% of our cables and cable assemblies are made in our factory in Valencia, California. Cicoil has been making cables in the USA for over 50 years.
